Memories of John Bouslog

John and I had a blast running cross country our senior year. With Olie Fosdyck as our coach, our workouts consisted of playing touch football with Olie as quarterback for both sides. What a way to earn a varsity letter!

How could I say anything about John without Jill. I remember a little swimming party that landed several of us in a rather akward position with the local authorities and our parents. As I recall, most of our parents and friends had a good laugh at our expense. I mean, we couldn't even get skinny dipping right! LOL !

2000 Update

Spouse: Jill Delashmutt Bouslog

Children:
  • Zachary, 13
  • Abraham, 11
  • Benjamin, 8
  • Jordan, 8
  • Madeline, 4

  • Occupation: Attorney

Occupation of Spouse: Elementary Teacher, Des Moines Public Schools

John and I have lived in the Des Moines area for 17 1/2 of our almost 20 years of marriage. I have taught for Des Moines Public Schools full-time and then part-time when taking time off to have our five children. I currently job share a 3rd grade position, working two full days one week and three full days the next. I love this arrangement!

Our four oldest are boys, ranging in age from almost 14, 11, almost 9 (twins), and then our daughter will be five this summer. John and I keep busy with all the boys' sports practices and games, as well as getting them to various piano and show choir rehearsals on time. Ironically the license plate on our van spells exactly what it's used for...BousBus!! We thoroughly enjoy whatever season it is and the sporting event or events that the boys participate in. For now Maddie enjoys dance and tumbling class, but assures her father and I that she will be playing soccer starting in the spring and baseball in the summer. It's! quite a treat having a little female in the house after all these years of testosterone.

I have a little business of my own that keeps a few weekends in the fall booked. I paint crocks for various holidays and special occasions and take them to craft fairs to sell. "What A Crock!!" may soon have a web page of its own as I try to sell my wares via the internet.

Life is busy, but has been extremely good! John and I feel very blessed! Even though we're embarking on the time that our first child will be attending high school, it seems as though our good old Macomb High School days were not that long ago. I love catching up on everyone's personal info. It helps to keep the memories alive and keep us all young!
