   Memories of Andy Matthews

G'Day Mate!! I was introduced to Andy by Cindy his host sister, it was so cool to meet someone from another country like that. Now looking back it had to take a lot of courage to leave your family and friends to come to a different country. Last year, we were asked to host an exchange student from Australia. Remembering Andy really made it easy to say yes, a decision that we have no regrets about. We had a great time hosting and encourage anyone to host an exchange student. I'm glad that Andy has kept us in the loop, hope to see him in 01.

Ahh, that smile!!!!! ahh, that ACCENT !!!

Andy "Drew" Matthews...besides Ricky Ricardo, he was the ONLY man I knew of ,way back then, who talked "funny"....All us gals, were verrry intrigued by Drew!!!!

I remember many a car rides with Drew, with lots of different friends, especially Don Willey....Football games, Andy's "house" out in the country, my house-out in the country, etc etc.....memories..... He was always smiling, never in a bad mood.....Just a joy to be around..!!! I remember when he drew that mural,(wonder if that is where he got his nickname, "drew", ya think??) which still stands today, on the walls of MHS....!! He was sooo talented, even in High School...(Luckily, I still have a few cards he made for me, maybe he'll autograph them for me, one of these days..)

It is no surprise to me, how well he is doing today, in his career, and in his life....What a fantastic motivational speaker he must be, not to mention him selling soooo many books!!! And according to his picture on his website, that smile has not changed one bit!!!!!!!!! We were sooo lucky, to have had the opportunity to meet and know, such a fantastic guy from down under!!! Im glad he was my friend....
