Memories of Pat Powers
Pat was a bright, quiet guy. I remember when his family transfered to the Macomb area. I still remember the sting of the bombardment balls Pat would throw in 6th grade. He had a heck of an arm even back then.

Pat was part of the group of guys I hung with for the first couple of years at MHS, which included Tim Pedersen, Rich Pollock, Rich Wallen, and Ray Cox. I remember Pat was so proud of that green 1950-something Ford pickup truck he had, and our group was so happy to not have to ride the bus to school. Pat would meet us all at Grant School in the morning and we'd all pile into the back. I don't think I EVER "called shotgun" fast enough. We'd be riding in the back of that old beater even during the winter and freezed our butts off. Pat would make it a point to plow through snow drifts on the side of the road and send snow flying - we'd all be screaming with laughter. The other thing I remember about Pat was his favorite hobby - girlwatching. He was a pro. We'd be walking along and he'd grab my arm, saying "Damn Reedeye, look at THAT!" Pat was charged with a zest for life and it was contagious.

My brother is trully missed. He is a big guy with a huge heart. Mom moved on a couple of years ago to greet him. Pat was a hard worker, and a great brother. Although he only made it to 21, he had a great time doing it.I just stumbled on this web site, and I can't tell you how good it is to be able to read about my brother. Thank You!!
